Why hire a pro instead of doing it yourself
Permanent lighting is a fixed installation with a power supply, so it is not a weekend project. The track has to sit straight along the fascia or drip edge to disappear in daylight, the runs have to be squared at every corner, and the controller needs a proper circuit. Done casually, it looks like equipment bolted to a house. Done properly, most people cannot see it until it comes on.
Being an authorized dealer matters for the parts that come after the install too. The system is supported, the components are the real ones, and the person who fitted it is the person who comes back if a zone misbehaves. Where JellyFish works best around Cincinnati
JellyFish is a track fixed under the roofline, so the roofline matters more than which side of the river you are on. It goes in most cleanly where the fascia is straight and continuous and the gutters are sound, which describes most of what has been built in the last thirty years — Mason, Fairfield, West Chester, and the Kentucky growth around Florence and Independence. On those houses the track sits in the trim line and you would not know it was there in daylight.
The climate makes the case more strongly here than anywhere else we work. A permanent track means nobody is on a ladder in a Cincinnati December, or worse, in January when something needs attention. It also means the display can run at all — a fixed installation designed for snow load and sustained freeze behaves very differently from temporary hardware that was really designed for a mild winter.
The argument against is honest too: on the older hillside stock in Mount Adams, Hyde Park or the Covington and Newport river blocks, there is frequently not enough uniform fascia to seat a channel where it will stay out of sight. We look before we recommend. Where a track does fit, it runs warm white as everyday trim, colour through December, red for an Opening Day weekend, and nothing at all the rest of the time.
