Most of the streets off Erie, Observatory and Michigan Avenues were built up in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries: Tudor and Colonial Revival fronts, brick foursquares, deep eaves, steep gables, and a good deal of slate and clay tile. These are large, detailed houses on established lots, many of them carefully restored, and their owners usually care as much about how the lighting looks at noon as at nine at night.

On a restored front with original trim, a seasonal display designed around the gables and fixed along the fascia line is often the right call, because nothing stays on the house after the holidays. Where the fascia runs straight and continuous, a permanent track tucked under the roof edge reads as trim in daylight and means nobody climbs a tall gable every November. What a Hyde Park install actually takes
Height and roofing, mostly. A Hyde Park gable can put the top line well past ladder reach, and slate or tile is never something we fasten through, because a cracked slate is a roofing bill. Fixings are matched to the trim on each house and the run follows the fascia and gutter line. Mature street trees and narrow or shared driveways are common, so we plan where the crew sets up before install day.

Christmas and seasonal light installation in Hyde Park

We design the display around your roofline, install commercial-grade product cut to fit your house, and service it through the season if anything goes dark. After the holidays we take it down and store it until next year, so nothing lives in your garage and nothing gets crushed between seasons.
Booking order decides the calendar. Installs run in the order they are booked, so the earliest dates go to whoever called first. If you want the lights on before the first weekend of December, get on the list well before the season starts.
